La casa desnuda

A unique space defines the focus of this home. Its spatial unity on the horizontal plane endows the place with a sense of openness and relief that is uncommon in dwellings from this period. The intention has been to integrate the entire functional program of the home into this space, adopting an inclusive layout for its different uses. As a guiding principle of the project, use has not been allowed to dictate form, so as not to distort the overall spatial perception; in this way, versatile areas are created that adapt to each situation and to the needs of the moment.

Within this open floor plan, all the typical functions of a home unfold, interpreted through a contemporary lens in which sensory experience prevails in the resolution of the functional program, rather than fragmenting space with rigid partitions.

Perhaps the most important quality, however, is vertical fluidity. This arises from the nature of the under-roof space, where the conventional horizontal ceiling plane transforms into an inclined surface that offers different readings from multiple viewpoints. Added to this, an engaging interplay of volumes in height—suggested by the original building’s layout—creates a surprising addition of spaces that multiplies the perception of the home, generating a spatial richness more characteristic of complex architectures. Light completes the experience, entering in unexpected ways through the various openings designed for this purpose.

The result: an open and flexible project, capable of adapting to its occupants according to their needs.
